Outside Sales Account Manager
Summary

We are looking for a full-time Account Manager for our Sales division with mechanical piping and industrial piping experience at our Indianapolis, Indiana location. We are looking for a motivated, enthusiastic, self-driven individual to join our growing team.
Responsibilities
  • Responsible to continue developing and servicing a targeted customer base.
  • Contacts individual assigned accounts with the main goal being to increase sales by providing exceptional account servicing. Have contact on a daily basis with customers, whether through phone, e-mail or in person.
  • Proactively identify customer needs and requirements.
  • The Account Executive will be a liaison between our customers and our company. They are to represent our company in a positive and professional way and have an attitude of excellence through which they can meet and exceed sales goals.
  • Monitor expenditures to ensure compliance with approved budgetary constraints.
  • Participate in special projects and perform additional duties as required.
  • Participate in the emergency service schedule, as directed by the Sales Management.
  • Participate in further education and training of new products and technology as directed by the Sales Management.
  • Maintain customer relationships by providing prompt services for all orders, inquiries, and other related areas, including complaints, returns, and coordinating such matters with other associates as necessary.
  • Reports to management any company activities which could be detrimental in achieving sales objectives and/or forecasts.
  • Review with the Sales Management all inquiries of a competitive or product-sensitive nature.
  • Monitors daily quotations and follows up in an expedient manner to gain increased sales and/or competitive information.
  • Attend vendor in-house seminars covering new products and increasing overall knowledge of existing products.
  • Maintain open order reports on a weekly basis.
  • Must be an excellent communicator who conveys an “above and beyond” attitude to our customers and fellow employees.
  • Proficiency in computer systems and ability to interpret purchase orders, invoices, work instructions, and procedure manuals.
QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed above are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions. Experience with PVF and industrial supply sales is a must. This position also requires professional etiquette, attire, and independent transportation.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Minimum 5 years of inside/outside sales experience. A mechanical trade-oriented background is definitely a plus. Knowledge of Industrial Supply is a must. This position requires knowledge of sales theory and skills and knowledge of pipe, valve, and fittings. Convey an attitude of confidence and appreciation for our customers.
